How was StanChart PE’s partial exit from Redington?

Standard Chartered Private Equity (StanChart PE) partially exited its six-year-old bet on Chennai IT products distributor Redington (India) Ltd on Monday. Redington, one of the largest resellers of Apple iPhones in India, is part of Singapore-based Kewalram Chanrai Group and counts US-based global IT products distributor Synnex as a strategic shareholder. Synnex is the single-largest shareholder of Redington with a 23.58% stake. Promoters own about an 8% stake in the company, which went public in 2007, while StanChart PE held over 15% prior to this transaction.
